Mother, daughter, wife, poet...lawyer
You are invited to a presentation by Dr Suhair Al-Quraishi, Dean of Dar Al-Hekma College, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Dr Al-Qarashi will talk about the changing face of Saudi Arabia for women - the life her mother lead, the life she leads and the future she sees for the next generation.
Dar Al-Hekma is the first women's college in the Kingdom to invite undergraduates to study the law. The students are currently completing their first year whilst the government has announced that under new legislation women lawyers will be allowed to appear in court and represent clients. Dr Al Qaraishi will look at how this impacts on the fast changing society in the Kingdom. The college also recently hosted Hilary Clinton, US Ministry of Foreigh Affairs during her visit to the Kingdom.
Dr. Al-Qarashi is also a poet and will talk about the important role poetry plays in her life.
Dr Al Quraishi is also president and Founding Member of the Jeddah Health Care Quality Club; a member of the International Society for Quality Assurance in Health Care and of the American National Association of Health Care Quality Professionals.
